Customer Service Representative

Position Summary:

The Customer Service Representative is the primary liaison between the customer and SIFCO ASC and shares the responsibility of fielding and directing incoming phone calls and email inquiries.

The CSR provides price and delivery information for standard products; accepts and enters domestic and international orders; prepares shipping paperwork as required for domestic and international shipments; assists customers with order status updates and other service-related issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to phone calls, faxes and email inquiries related to customer or general requests.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to SIFCO ASC products and services.
  • Update system with accurate customer information.
  • Provide quotes with pricing and lead times to customers for SIFCO ASC products using the CRM database.
  • Communicate with team members for lead times, technical inquires and shipping status of customer orders.
  • Process orders through the ERP system for both domestic and international customers.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through accuracy of information and minimum response time to inquiries.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with assigned customers through proactive phone calls and emails.
  • Process and follow up with customer returns, refunds or exchanges.
  • Advise customer on general company information.
  • Fill out customer surveys requiring company information.
  • Take payment information and process credit card transactions.
  • Answer questions about warranties and terms of sale.
  • Work with management to ensure proper customer service and satisfaction is being delivered.
  • Attend daily meetings to support production and gather information for customer inquiries.
  • Provide support and assistance to other parts of the organization as required.

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college level course work or degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Prior customer service experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of shipping terms, methods and restrictions.
  • Understand regulations with transportation and the logistics of hazardous materials.
  • Experience with DOT, IATA, ICAO regulations for shipping hazardous chemicals. Certification such as TMGI Training is a plus.
  • Prior experience with processing paperwork for domestic and international shipments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to create simple forms, reports and spreadsheets.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced organization that requires multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute in a timely manner based on the needs of the customer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Exposure to a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in stand-up shop floor activities including meetings, improvement events and inventory.

Compensation

Competitive salary between 35K and 42K.

Electrochemist

Position Summary

The Electrochemist will work independently and as part of a team for application development, utilizing innovative approaches with existing chemistries and processes and in the development of new processes and materials to meet customer needs.  This position will also provide technical guidance and troubleshooting expertise in solution manufacturing

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide technical guidance on the full range of electrochemistry within the company from chemical analysis to troubleshooting technical issues with plating applications, solution manufacturing, and quality testing.
  • Develop new plating solutions and chemical processes to meet industry needs.
  • Improve the performance of existing SIFCO Process® deposits.
  • Evaluate the chemistry of key solutions and processes parameters to minimize hydrogen embrittlement and stress in the application of SIFCO Process® deposits.
  • Develop innovative approaches for applying deposits onto complex shapes.
  • Support and drive process, productivity, and quality improvements through measurement and detailed analysis, and sustain improvements with process control methods, such as SPC and DOE.
  • Support multiple projects as a key contributing member through technical problem solving, analysis, and control methods.  Drive standardization and improvement of existing products.
  • Document and communicate project results and application knowledge. Process transfer from D&D to production.
  • Active membership and participation in professional organizations. Present papers at key industry gatherings.
  • Recommend patents when appropriate; protect and maintain products and processing know-how.
  • Use XRF, SEM, FTIR, XRD, Corrosion Djinn, and interpret results. Metallographic preparation for deposit evaluation.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor or advanced Degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrochemistry
  • Solid foundation of electrochemical processes.
  • Experience in design and scale-up of plating processes is a necessity.
  • Ability to conduct hands-on original, independent research leading to product and process improvements and root cause analysis.
  • Approach technical projects in a professional manner that contributes to a climate of excellence based on observable personal action and self-discipline that encourages others to perform their duties thoughtfully and well.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

  • Microsoft Access and Office, SPC
  • Experimental deign
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving
  • Experience with Solidworks preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Moderate lifting required occasionally.
  • Work involves exposure to hazardous chemicals and applicable PPE.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.  Exposure to noise and chemicals consistent with a chemical manufacturing environment.  Ability to function in Shop and Office environment as well as perform desk/computer work and hands on testing in a laboratory environment.

Territory Sales Manager

Position Summary

Performs sales and marketing functions within a targeted territory by selling Surface and Plating solutions (technology, products, services and automation).

Essential Job Functions

  • Actively seek to identify and convert into positive sales, new opportunities for surface enhancement while protecting those that are already a part of SIFCO ASC business model.
  • Further penetrate and protect key customer business while aggressively expanding into new high potential markets.
    Call on and build relationships with new potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Work with Sales Manager to develop aggressive targeted marketing and sales programs with the intent of growing business and profitability in SIFCO ASC’s assigned business.
  • Perform marketing and competitive analysis of assigned territory for the intent of growing SIFCO ASC’s business and profitability.
  • Collect and distribute market and emerging technology information throughout SIFCO Applied Surface Concepts (ASC) with the intent of growing product offerings, sales footprint and overall profitability of the company.

Qualification Requirements

  • Highly motivated individual with excellent situational awareness; ability to assess technical detail regarding customer’s material needs.
  • Strongly analytical with ability to quickly identify opportunities for growth as well as the best and most correct path to penetrate an organization to reach the key decision-makers.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, PowerPoint, and on-line CRM systems.
  • B.S. degree with technical or business major or demonstrably equivalent experience.
    Advanced degree in business is beneficial.
  • Responsible for completing a 4-6 months training at the headquarters site on the SIFCO Process, systems and selling tools.
  • 2- 5 years in a technical sales role of engineered products (non-consumer)
  • The ability to meet with various levels of management to communicate product offerings.
